How To Use Affirmations
An affirmation is a short statement which you say to yourself repeatedly to make a shift in your thinking process and re-program your unconscious mind.
This re-programming of your unconscious mind then helps you to focus your thoughts on attracting the things and experiences that you want in your life.
For example “I am healthy” can be used as an affirmation to attract health.
When you struggle with health there may be an emotional reason for this. You may be even attracting illness by complaining about your health or not appreciating it when it was there before.
Your unconscious mind processes all the information given to it by you and your surroundings. It believes in whatever you consistently repeat to yourself aloud or in your mind and it doesn’t matter if the statement is true or false.
Make sure you feel good about saying the affirmations to yourself; you may have to work on your emotions in order to enhance the positive feeling while repeating the words.
For example when you affirm “I am healthy” you need to feel healthy, imagine yourself being healthy and full of vital energy.
Think of it as if this has already happened as it will enhance the positive emotions in you like gratitude which is a very powerful emotion.
Each one of us uses affirmations on a daily basis as they are simply the thoughts we keep repeating to ourselves.
Here’s a simple guidance on how to use affirmations that really works –
Keep your affirmations short and straight forward, best if they begin with “I AM….”
Use affirmations every single day, no matter where you are and what you do, never skip a day. You have to literally force a new blueprint to your unconscious in order to make it believe that whatever you are repeating is true.
Some people do it for 5 minutes straight every day and some do for 20 minutes. You need to figure out what feels best for you.
I personally do it for 35 minutes every day only because I have downloaded a 35 minutes affirmation audio on my phone with a soothing music in the background. For me, it simply replaces the time I would spend on listening to songs while commuting or having a walk in the park.
The duration also varies depending on your personal needs and expectations however I strongly suggest doing it for at least 30 days straight and then you will see and feel the progress in your state of mind for yourself.
